About Us

Thank you for visiting the site of the Columbia Hotel Marketing Association. CHMA, established September 2003, is an organization of hotel sales people that meet on the third Tuesday of each month. Goals at our meetings include educating and sharing viewpoints on citywide issues, and discussing anything that affects the hospitality industry.

CHMA has become a leader in the City of Columbia. The organization volunteers for the Missouri State High School Activities Association, the Show Me State Games, and joined the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau in a state wide advertising campaign. Partnering with the Columbia Lodging Association, we produce a city wide map for distribution at local tourist destinations. Member Benefits

We have come a long way since our establishment in 2003 and provide several benefits to members:

Participation in the Joint Meeting Planners Tradeshow for the Missouri Society of Association Executives (MSAE), the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) and the Missouri Travel Council (MTC). The Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) reserves three (3) booth spaces (value $1,050.00). Members of CHMA may attend for only $45.00 a person and meet with 100 or more meeting planners.

Participation in the MSAE Funfest. The CVB reserves a sponsorship and distributes snack items with each member hotel listed. In addition, representatives from your member hotel may attend the event and visit with several representatives from the association market.

Participation in the MSAE and SGMP Holiday Socials with prize donations and each member hotel listed.

An opportunity to meet at and learn about different venues in Columbia for our monthly meetings.

Promotion on CHMA website

One (1) CHMA logo shirt will be provided to each member hotel. Additional shirts may be purchased at cost.

Each member hotel has a listing on the city map distributed at local tourist destinations including the airport, car rental agencies and the colleges.

There will be a drawing at the Holiday Social with a value up to $200.00. Every time you attend a monthly CHMA meeting, your name will be entered into the drawing.
